Question

An organic gradual spin (rotation)

Hello-

I never thought I would have so much trouble with something so seemingly simple. But I guess that is reflecting on some knowledge that I'm lacking. ANYWAY , I'm trying to get the entire frame of my video to do a GRADUAL spin and fly away. But gradual may not be the word because each revolution, it should slow down alittle bit before the next revolution. I've searched high and low for scripts, templates, turorials.. anything to address this. I'm sure it's done w some combination of correct keyframe interpolation and time remapping but I can never seem to get the correct combination. It always looks unnatural and jittery. I thought Roving might help but that's for things in space.. I'm reaching out to the experts for this one because I'm at a loss. I'm attaching the AE file but there's not much to it. I'll also attach a video of me explaining it. Thanks

If you want complete control, learn how to use the graph editor. You will want to edit the speed graph.

Maybe this screenshot will help:

You should also take a look at this tutorial I did. It focuses on position but the principals are exactly the same for rotation.

I also fiddled with your sample comp and uploaded it. See if that helps.

If you own Squash & Stretch Pro, its behavior "Highbar Gymnast Jump Out" could also be a good starting point:

Maybe start with Easy Ease Out (on the start keyframe) and then refine the speed graph in the graph editor?
