I have this stroke .png image I want to animate as if its creating a brush stroke/reveal. How do I go about this. Should I vectorize this image as well? What's the easiest way to do this.

There's realyl no easy way here. This is one of those cases where you end up doing a lot of preparation work to separate the individual strokes e.g. in Photoshop. Drawing them on is the easy part after that, as each stroke could be as simple as applying a linear wipe to each separated layer. Really depends. In any case, I would suggest you look up older "Write-on/ logo wipe/ logo reveal" tutorials that do not rely on shape layers and Trim Paths and do things the hardss way with wipes, the Stroke effect, masks and similar. This will give you an idea what you may be facing. Again, the work is in the preparation, not so much the actual animation.
