Thanks for the question. Rather simple and clean design. I like it. Deconstruct the animation to understand what each part of it is doing. The half circle looks like it is merely rotating. The square and triangle look like animated masks. I think that exploring trim paths is the right way to go for the stairwell piece. What trouble are you having with each chunk? I hope the idea helps you.
