Layers seem to be disappearing

Thanks for writing in. Please share the following details:

Does it happen only with the projects created in the previous version or new projects as well?
What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS)?
What's the version of After Effects you're using: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/faq-how-to-find-the-exact-version-of-after-effects-you-re-using/td-p/9972137

Could you try importing your project into a new one and see is that helps?
