Anyone know how to achieve this gradient background animation effect?

If you haven't heard of Broken.TV - he's an awesome AE creator, with some incredibly helpful tutorials.

I was wondering though, if anyone here knows how to re-create this type of gradient background he created for a NASA logo animation. The gradient can be seen here:
