Anyone know why a User account on MacOS would affect After Effects? Details follow

Recent had After effects grind to a halt on my new mac studio. We're talking,  move your mouse and immediate beach ball stuff. I un and reinstalled after effects, nothing. removed plugins? nothing. I then decided to open the project in a brand new user account. This cured it immediately and AE became usable.

I don't have anything overally worrying in the first user account. Some documents, downloads...its pretty new. Is there anything I can check as to what's happened and where? I dont really want to start faffing with a new account. I'd rather repair the old one.

Hi mg88633778,

Sorry for your issue.

It's mostly the permission to some files and folders that After Effects needs to access and modify. Try changing the permissions in your existing user as instructed in the following article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/multi/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html

If it doesn't help, try providing full disk access to After Effects. Here's how: https://macpaw.com/how-to/full-disk-access-mojave

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu
