Anything that requires manual typing in my AE doesn’t work, how do I fix this?

Basically if I try typing settings into an effect manually, try to use the effects and presets panel search bar, or the text tool, it doesn’t work. I’m able to click on the search bars, but it’s like a hold instead of a toggle and doesn’t let me type anything in. I’ve tried resetting my preferences, safe mode, disabling my plugins, and nothing will work
