Arri 35 MXF files will randomly become unsupported and never work again.

After working for weeks random Arri MXF Pro Res files will no longer connect, be marked as incompatible, randomly. They will have been unchanged on disk, still work in Premiere, even if I link to an untouched backup they will not work in AE. Then every few days more and more files will stop working. Its like a plague. This is destroying workflows.

Hi Andy, that sounds frustrating.

Please try the following:

  1. Try this first: Preferences > Media & Disk Cache > click "Clean Database & Cache." That rebuilds the index from scratch.

  2. Run After Effects in Safe Mode and test. Here's how: https://adobe.ly/4qA57rL

Also test importing one of the failing files into a brand new empty project (File > New Project > Import). If it works cleanly there, it could be an issue with the cache.

What AE version and OS are you on? And a screenshot of the exact error would help.
