I imported a movie clip in after effects, and the reverb is way off and high. What happened ? Adjusting reverb did not work, the pitch changed multiple times when I played the preview further, loud distortion ensued in a certain part of the clip. What happened ?

During the preview, I had it rendered the video carried the same bad audio.

And is that in preview or rendering? Is the playback at full fps, or is it highlighted in red in the info panel?

When I play the preview of the clip I am doing motion tracked text with, the reverb is off, the part where fox hits wesley there is no bass. In a certain part of the clip there is loud distortion.

It's really difficult to understand what the problem is from your description. Any adjustments I need to make to audio I usually do in Audition, but if you only have After Effects available then it is hard to tell. When you say the pitch changes multiple times, do you have the info panel open? Is it possible the preview was stuttering or slowing during playback?
