Audio glitches and distortion after importing audio files in latest After Effects version

I am experiencing an audio glitch/distortion issue in the latest version of After Effects.

Whenever I import audio files into my project and play them back on the timeline, the sound becomes glitched, distorted, or stutters heavily. The original audio files plat completely fine in external media players. 

Macs version 26.6.2

    I’ve had this problem using compressed audio files (mp3 or AAC audio from MP4 files). As soon as I change the format to WAV (Using Adobe Media Encoder) the problem dissappaer. Try this!

    Hi, sorry to hear about the issue. A few questions:

    1. Your exact AE version (Help > About).

    2. What format are the audio files (WAV, MP3, AAC, etc.)?

    3. Does it happen with all audio files or specific ones? Try importing a different audio file to test.

    4. Have you tried AE in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled? https://adobe.ly/4ypsAPO
