Audio missing

When I import an audio/video (recording) file into AE, the audio is cut off after 15 to 30 seconds.  I can play the file through some other program and the audio is there but in AE, it just cuts off.  Any ideas as to why this is happening?  The attached photo shows the audio stop at just before 15secs but the actual audio time is 2min 30secs.

It could be a decompression issue with the MP4 source footage.

Try extracting the audio to a WAV or AIF outside of After Effects and then import that.

    That seems to have worked.

    There's a ton of bugs with this across different recent versions, so the simple answer may be to update to the latest one. Otherwise check your media cache and audio and preview settings.
