Question

Audio not audible in preview After Effects. Only audible after rendering

Hi everyone!

When I have imported my audio footage and placed it in the timeline, the audio wave has vertical stripes. The audio is also not audible in preview, only after rendering.

Does any of you know how I solve this?

All preview options do not provide audio playback?

And to confirm, only after rendering out a movie do you hear the audio? Which app do you use to playback the rendered movie?

'All' preview options; how many are there? Perhaps I haven't seen a very well hidden checkbox...?

After rendering i do hear the audio. Windows media player. The audio is fine; so it's not the audio itself that causes this problem.

Are you saying that if you press spacebar to play the video that you don't hear audio? That would be strange.

If you are trying to scrub audio (hear while you move the timeline indicator) You can hold down ctrl/alt on Windows or cmd/option on Mac and drag the timeline indicator to hear the audio.

Hi Rob,

Thanx for your quick reply!

That's what I meant... and I find it also very strange.

The scrub-thing I've also tried, but still non audible. I've tried mp3 and wav; same problem. Audio preview enabled, etc. Perhaps there's a checkbox somewhere I haven't noticed...?
