Audio Spectrum add Scribble Effect

Hey there, I am new to After Effects and I play a bit with After Effects. I try to archieve that I can use the Audiospectrum and put the Scribble Effect on top of my Spectrum so it has this "hand draw" effect.

But after trying 3h I still have no clue how to do that. If i pre-comp and mask the audiospectrum, it just masks the whole layer like a solid.

Thanks for your time, i appreciate every answer 😃

Scribble does not function this way. It requires a mask or Alpha channel to determine its bounds. It's never going to work directly with Audio Spectrum. There are workarounds, but they would be incomprehensible to a beginner, no offense. Therefore a completely different approach like e.g. applying Roughen Edges to the spectrum and stylizing it further e.g. with a fractal Noise effect overlay to get a painted/ Crosshatch look might be simpler to achieve for you. in any case, it might not hurt to actually read the help on effects and/ or watch suitable tutorials, especially when dealing with something that specific.
