Auto-save have been useless since last few major updates

Question

I have my autosave set to 5 minutes and it's been working great for years. But at some point in the last few major updates they changed autosave.

It seems the autosave timer now gets reset the second After Effects window loses focus. So if I get check my Google Chat message... the autosave gets reset. I'm frequenly popping in and out of After Effects duirng my workflow so at the end of the day... there might only be 4 auto save files whereas before I would have 15 or 20.

Last night I wanted to go back to a previous autosave to undo some new changes... but there was only 1 autosave file which didn't contain the my old work so now I have to start that effect over.

So now I have to set my autosave timer to 1 minute.

Anybody else notice this?

Hey same problem here : auto-save doesn't auto-save.

Like, it's supposed to save every 15 minutes, but the last auto-saved file is like few hours ago (I do manually save a lot, but not every 15 minutes, it's not fitting).

Today, I save my work at 05:45 (autosaved few minutes before, at 05:43). Let my computer on, come back few hours later, at 09:30. Work for a bit more than 30 minutes. After crashes.
My last autosaved is the one from 05:43, but should have been, worst case scenario, 14 minutes before crash. Nothing.

Can Adobe fix that garbage soft? How can you live with such a dreadful malfunction ?
