Hey Guys,

i have a problem with auto-trace. i want do auto-trace a audio spectrum waveform but auto-trace traces only one frame and stays that way. i want to add Saber plugin to it like if bass hits the saber plug-in puts out like a lightning or something like that.

thanks for advance

Correct answer P.M.B

I believe that's because auto trace works similar to baking keyframes.

It goes through the entire layer frame by frame,  analyzes it and then creates the masks.

Audio Waveform is generating on the fly so there's really nothing for it to analyze.

Try pre-rendering the waveform to a format with an alpha channel then bring it back in apply the auto trace to that..

Pre-compose and try that.

I'm not trying to be critical or throw a wet blanket on your project but personally, I find long-form audio spectrum videos extraordinarily boring. Just getting something to randomly gyrate to the music does not tell a story. A bunch of random colors and lights may mesmerize, but it's very difficult way to tell a story. I would hope that you spend a little time listening to the music and seeing what story the music is telling you, then put on your creative hat and figuring out the best way for you to tell that story to your audience.
