Question

Batch process and render

Hello and sorry for the noob question, I tried searching but the answers I found where using scripts since 2004, so by now there has to be a better way! 🙂

I am pretty new to AE and I want to create videos from my product images. As a start I have about 500 products each with 7 photos. I downloaded a template from Envato elements that I want to replace the images in the placeholder layers and render. Output should be named as per the name first image.

I thought I could find a simple batch process like in Photoshop...

Anyway to do that?

I am currently developing the tool Automation Blocks, which offers such a workflow:

The tool is not yet available publically. Please send me an email to info@mamoworld.com if you want to join the private beta.

AE has no actions or batch processing, so yes, as already pointed out by Arie you still need to use scripts and alternate tools. In fact your requirements sound simple enough to be covered by a number of workflow scripts on AEscripts.com or creating a custom one.

Thank you so much...I will check out the website.

Do you have any particular script in mind?

Hi There!

You can accomplish this by scripting your own solution, or you can use out-of-the-box

solutions like Dataclay's Templater for Adobe After Effects that lets you do that very easily.  That extension was designed to do exactly what you are seeking out to do.  Check out: https://dataclay.com/templater to learn more about it.  There is also good documentation for it at https://dataclay.con/kb and of course YouTube tutorials for accomplishing what you want: https://youtube.com/dataclay

Hope this helps and happy rendering!

Thank you, it seems good.

One quesion though, can the "rig" package do what I want or do I need to subscribe to the "Pro"?

$100 per month is a lot of money!

The Pro edition is what you would need.  There is no obligation the keep a subscription long term.  You can use Pro for a single

month to accomplish your output tasks.  When you have another project that requires it again you can get a new license later on.  Also, Dataclay offers great support.
