Batch processing in AE

Hello AE community,

I am looking to stabilize 400 individual clips in AE, applying the same warp stabilizer settings to each individual clip. I would like some guidance on how to create a composition and then export them as individual clips, rather than a reel. If you could help me with that, it would be greatly appreciated. Each clip is five seconds in length. Let me know what you think is the best course of action. Thank you in advance for your help, and screenshots are always appreciated .

If you are talking about warp stabilizing then each individual clip needs to be treated a little differently for optimum results. That's not really something you can automate. You also only want to work stabilize the frames that are actually going to be used in the final edit. It's a waste of time and resources to perform on footage that will never be seen.

You might be able to get some more efficient workflows if you gave us a few more workflow and shot details.

Scripting helps with batch processes like these. I don't know of any tools that do this specifically, but I've made a script that helps with applying effects in bulk.

1. Import all footage into the project.

2. Drag and drop all clips onto the New Comp icon and select create "Multiple Comps"

3. Select all those comps in the project panel, go to File > Run Script File and select this script (download button in the right top corner)

4. Wait for all the warp stabilizers to complete analyzing

5. Add them all to the render queue and export.
