Question

Best approach for two characters walking towards each other?

I'm trying to get two 2D characters walking towards each other, but the background is following the first character. How do i make it look a little more believable? Right now the second character is just sliding every way on the right side of the screen and I'd like to make it look like they're actually walking towards the first character.

really it's not clear if you have all 3 elements separate character one, character 2 and background,

if so the best way to animate this is by using 3D layers and camera, so you can let the camera follow the character 1 instate of keep the background follow the character, after that the character 2 will walk without any slide

Hi if you have these 2 characters on separate file then delete the frames where it is lagging i think only that is possible for this.

They are not my rigged characters, but two pre-animated entities. It is mario walking towards Samus from Metroid but it is on Mario's background and samus is not synced up with it.
