Question

Best place to buy AE Templates?

I'm in need of a good place to buy templates at reasonable prices...

I've been looking at ENVATO which seems to umbrella over other places like videohive etc.  I've even seen some at $99 "lifetime" memberships for unlimited downloads...I see a lot of overlap and just wanted to know if anyone can recommend some good sites.  I'd appreciate only recommending ones that you actually use as some "seem" good and then you discover later things aren't what you expected.

Thanks!

Some days ago I found a new site to buy some motion resources. Its not so huge like envato but they have really nice designs to work with and the prices are very good starting at $2-3

Leave it here Professional Motion Graphics and Broadcast Design Stock. • MoveGraph

We have a small but varied selection of high quality After Effects templates at https://www.enchanted.media/after-effects-templates/#all

Unlike the VideoHive model, you only pay once - the way Royalty Free is meant to be!

    I'd recommend:

Videohive in my experience has the best variety and is inexpensive ($6-$65 per item).

Videoblocks is the best if you plan on doing a lot of templates as it's subscription based ($149 annually). Unlimited downloads on footage, backgrounds, and After Effect templates.

I follow the Rocketstock ($39-$49 per item) blogs and get free stuff occasionally from them.

I can't vouch for these, but a quick google search and a little poking around:

    Pond5 ($5-$25 per item)

Motion Array, Subscriptions based: plans range from $19 to $49 per month (4–20 downloads)

    Motionvfx ($49 per item),

    Motion Elements ($1-$250 per item)

Today Videohive.net is one of leading markets for the After Effects Templates. Depends from who do you Buy After Effects Templates and are they covered by good tutorial, support or just a regular FAQ page. Personally as Envato Elite author i highly recommended their website, just check author reputation and try to contact them before buying item and you will be more than satisfied.

There's been a similar post to this one before so ill answer it like i did the other one. Rick has a point, you can go terribly wrong with buying the WRONG template, if you're not trying to deal with that risk than you should just go with free templates which can be found on EditorsDepot, they're pretty good too. http://editorsdepot.com/category/adobe-after-effects

I think templates are a crap shoot. You never know what you are getting. The best chance you have is to look for templates that you really like and then, as you get more experience, you can fix the poorly designed ones. Almost all templates are combinations of pre-comps with place holders for your custom footage or text. In many cases a template will save you a bunch of time, but you also run the risk of buying one that becomes popular and then your client sees it in a bunch of other videos and wonders why they paid you to create something that is canned. That's just my 2¢

I'm not really looking to debate the value of templates, I'm simply asking for a good place to actually buy them.  I've used templates over the years here and there and adjust them to where they work for me and still look somewhat unique without issue so far.  I'd love to have the time to design all day, but it's only one facet of what I do now and time is even more valuable, so again, if  anyone can recommend a good site to buy from, I'm still interested in hearing from you.
