Best way to key out black artifacts?

Hi!

I created a realistic flame in AE but it has black artifacts surrounding it. Is there a way I can rid myself of these things?

Try setting the blend mode of the flame layer to Screen or Add.

If that does not do it we need screenshots and ideally a frame of your flames with whatever kind of alpha channel you created.
