Blurred vector layer on zoom - and effects going crazy

Hi. I'm working on a project with illustrator vector graphics in several nested compositions.

At top composition I'm using a camera for zooming in to details of the graphics - however the vector graphics get blurry at anything above 100% scale.

Unfortunately I can't use continued rasterizing in top level composition, because effects used in lower level compositions goes crazy. I'm using bend-it animation on several graphics in lower compositions and all graphics with the effect applied disappear when continued rasterizing is on at the top level.

Anyone got a suggestion on how I can keep vector graphics sharp while zooming? Either with a workaround for the continued rasterizing NOT being used, or how to fix the bend-it effect items to still show up if continued rasterizing is turned on at top level ??! (using continued rasterizing for layers in same composition as the bend-it effects work fine of course)

I'm guessing the bend-it start and stop coordinates get out of whack at top level when continued rasterizing is going on and that's why the graphics just don't show up...would there be a fix available for me to try out, incase that's the problem?

I hope my explanation makes sense…

Thank you for any suggestions.

/M

One option is to add an adjustment layer on top of your master comp and move all effects that foul up Continuous Rasterization to the Adjustment layer.

If that doesn’t work because of layers, you can duplicate your camera, put it above the problem layer, pre-compose, then use an expression to link your main comp camera to the pre-comp camera with an expression and turn off all keyframes. Your problem layer, Pre-comp, would then just be a 2D layer in the main comp.

Another solution would be to open the Illustrator file and increase the artboard size, then select all artwork and size it up. The goal is to create artwork that will never have to be effectively scaled up more than about 130%.

100% scale = default distance from the Comp camera. 200% = ½ that distance.

For any other work arounds I’ll need to see a screenshot of your main comp or a flowchart with the problem layers pointed out. I jump through those kinds of hoops all the time.

Thank you for your ideas. I think in this specific instance I could just move some items out in another comp that would be able to rasterize....however I see alot of similar problems coming up later down the workload. Seems bend-it is the major problem here so I need to find a fix for bend-it or just use another way to add movement to items....it's just the copy/paste an effect on a bunch of layers seemed so effective :(

Anyways I will look into ways on how to fix bend-it or how to replace it to make the whole project scalable and rasterize-safe.

If you have any ideas on that please let me know.
