Question

Blurry UI text on After Effects 2025 & 2026 to compare it to 2024 and earlier Versions.

As the title says, the UI fonts are blurrier than in After Effects 2024 and earlier. Since I'm on a 1080p monitor, it is very hard to look at that much antialiasing. Can I get UI looks similar to After Effects 2024? I did everything to fix that, changed settings, display settings, etc., on the internet. cause of this issue, I can't go for future upgrades, sadly. Still stick with After Effects 2024. seems like bold and antialized UI text and icons on 2025 and 2026 give unwanted eye strain if used for while, compared to 2024 and earlier. Those earlier versions has more crispier UI fonts and ui and theme. I downloaded photo from another bug report which you simply ignored. I don’t want to continue this chat, when you can clearly see it.. or you can ignore this tooo and wait until 7 years to fix that..

I think the reason is that After Effects 2024 and earlier releases' UIs are sharper than the new 2025 - 2026 UI, because the new ui’s fonts are bold, and the UI Contrast is Too Strong… it would be good if we had settings to control it. It can cause eye strain in some people, including me. I saw someone already complain about this before.

    issue was mentioned before -

    Thanks for the follow-up, Thimira.

Good call linking the existing Feature Request from Stellar_beekeeper3254. That's exactly the right place for this feedback, and adding your vote and a comment with your specific eye-strain experience helps the product team weigh it.

Let me know if there any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Nishu

    Hi Thimira,

Thanks for following up and sharing the resolution. I’m glad you were able to improve the issue through monitor calibration.

While it’s difficult to say exactly why AE 2024 appears different on your setup, newer versions of After Effects do include UI updates and changes under the hood, which can sometimes interact differently with display settings.

I appreciate you taking the time to report this and share your findings. It may help other users experiencing similar issues.

Feel free to reach out if there are any other questions. Moving this thread from Bugs to Questions.

    Thanks,

    Nishu

but it not completly solved… not as crisp as 2024 UI fonts .. still looks bold and blurry.. even calibration not fully helped. I just opened preference pannel and it’s looks like same. think my eyes are tricked before..

Solved….::::  after Calibration and Color Management of the monitor.....I was set to a 75Hz monitor to 60Hz back then. LOL.. Thank you for the help, guys. But how does After Effects 2024 work well on an uncalibrated monitor? It's a mystery.
