Bounding box of layers

Hi,

I was following a tuttorial. there I noticed any layer he clicks the bounding box of that very layer  exactly the same size of the comp window. But that is not happening in my case.

I prepare each layer individually in Illustrator. why we are not getting similar result? 😞
