Brush Tool - Adjusting number of Frames

Hello -

Ive recently started using After Effects, and its amazing! I am creating a video (around a minute long) with lots of doodle animations. The problem I cant figure out is how can I change the number of frames brush strokes last for? My animations go a little too fast, but since I have over 2,000+ brush layers, I cant figure out how to select all of them (or a clump) and adjust the number of frames. Ive tried adjusting them under the paint tool bar under custom frame number - but it's not making a difference (Im assuming because I have to select the right brush layer.....)

Any advice?

Thank you!

Each Brush Stroke contains a sorta mini layer stem with its own in-out indicators. To view these in-out indicators/stems,select a layer with the Brush Stroke and hit the P key twice, quickly. You can twirl down the Paint label in the Timeline to view the same thingies. To adjust the in-out points, simply manipulate the in-out points as you do, to a layer's in-out points, to change its duration or in-out points.

Thank you so much! I wasnt able to see these layers because my paint frames are literally less than a second! So the tick marks were super small, and I couldnt see they were being highlighted.

I dont see the blue numbers on my panel, any tips? Ive tried PP, or dragging it out more with no luck. The problem I am running into now is: since I've changed the time of how long one drawing stays on screen, now my animations are overlapping each other. Is there a quick way to fix this? I really wish I could select all the brush layers and change them with one button.

these are the in out time of the layer. you can see them if you right click on the column header and choose in/out. these can help to some degree with your brush layers, but unfortunately no scrubbing is available for the values - you have to type them manually.

you can select them all with the shift key, or selectively select with Ctrl but that's about it. for more control, the Quickdraw scripts gives you a lot of functionality.

There's a 3rd party brush utility callled Quickdraw on Aescripts. It will help you arrange and time your brush strokes.

Here is a screen grab if its helpful.....

Im also open to "merging" the brush layers if that would help me out? Im not sure how to do that though....
