Cache file flagged as a Worm

AE has been giving me errors that it couldn't access cache files on render and I find now that Microsoft Defender is identifying the files as a Worm and deleting them. Is this a Defender error? Or do I have some known infection?

Windows 11 Home v21H2

AE 24.2.1

I'm waiting for further info from you actually. As I said, If you know how I can output a file that would be useful to you, let me know and I'll happily do it.

When I clicked on "how do we know this is a worm" it just said it looked like other worms we have found!

If you determine which setting is causing the cache file to be flagged as a Worm, will you please let us know.

This is the first report we've seen, but it could be of serious impact to many AE users. We would definitely like to know a workaround to post here and also be able to report this to Microsoft with as much detail as possible.

OK, thank you!

It's most definitely a fluke. Check your security settings and create an exception rule for the cache folders or the AE process as a whole.
