Question

Camera RAW Settings only applied to 1st RAW file

Hi all,

I have been using AE for many years to process my timelapse sequences. Recently I have faced an issue where my camera raw settings are only applied to the first RAW file within the entire sequence. The rest of the sequence do not receive any grading/edits of any sort. I have reset preferences and cleared the cache and the same issue remains.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all.

When I do timelapse using RAW images, I always use Lightroom to do the initial color grading on the middle image in the sequence; then, I export a Tiff sequence that is the right size for the project. I get better results and faster renders than I get by applying the raw settings in After Effects or Premiere Pro. That's especially the case now because my Timelapse sequences are shot with a Sony A1 (50 MP) or a Sony A7R4 (61 MP), and both of those images are way too big for most videos. I also get the opportunity to export 16-bit TIFF files, create custom file names with the proper number of placeholders in the numbering, specify a location, and end up with a much better product in less time.

If I get the chance I'll take a look and see if I see an image sequence from a raw image sequence bug later today.

Thank you Rick for your insights. I have tried the LR method and went back to the Camera Raw and AE method since there isn't much difference between how I grade my RAW files. I am good with the high res files from the A1 and A7RV in AE since I output ProRes 422 HQ files that retain the native resolution of the files. I then bring them into Resolve to do whatever crops/Ken Burns effect that I desire.

Looking forward to your test for the "bugs" and thank you once again. 🙂

I just ran a test on some raw images, and everything worked as expected.

What version of AE are you using? Where did the source files come from?
