Can anyone tell me how to merge auto-generated stroke masks into one?

I'm trying to merge all the different masks from my auto generated strokes into one big one so I can generate an audio waveform and choose the big path as my spectrum path.  But I can't find any way of doing this; all I've been able to find are how to merge shape layers using the "add" button (but that doesn't appear to be an option for this case).  Please let me know of any suggestions on how to achieve this. I'm running Ae 17.2

Thanks!!

You cannot merge closed paths. There is no app that will do that. Inside AE there is no way to take two open paths and turn them into one by simply clicking or using a shortcut or procedure. The only option you would have would be to copy each path one at a time, open Illustrator, start a new comp sized document and paste each one then select the endpoints and create a join.

I have no idea what you are trying to do or what your workflow was to get to where you are. Please explain in detail and provide a screenshot of your comp with the modified properties of the layers that are giving you problems revealed. Press the u key twice, PrintScreen and then paste to the forum. If you are on a Mac Shift+Ctrl/CMnd+3 will send a screenshot to your desktop and you can just drag it here.

Depending on the specifics you might be able to pre-compose the multiple masks and then use auto trace to generate a single unified mask.   Like RIck said, some more detail & screenshots would help.
