Can not import files

Am trying to import PNG files to after effect but i get the massage "A file could not be found."

i click Mommand + I and navigate to the file location and clikc OK then i gut the massage

the file is PNG file RGB and 8 Bits

i tryed other files some of them worked and the other did not

can someone help me please

Update

i tryed moving the files to onther location on my mac and it workd (The files were on the external hard drive.)

but stil the original problem exist why i can not import files from external hard drive

Get Info on the external drive and check the Permissions settings.
