Can't apply CC Force Motion Blur after stabilizing

Hi there!

I've never experienced this issue before, so I hope that some of you might be able to help.

I am currently edition quite a lot of hyperlapses. My workflow is first to stabilize with motion tracker, pre-compose, then use warp stabilizer to smooth it out even more, pre compose again and THEN add force motion blur to make it even more sexy. I've been struggling with the last part and even done some troubleshooting myself.

An YES, I have screenshots.

It appears that if I add the CC Force Mortion blurr effect in the same composition as the warp stabilizer effect it works somehow, but ONLY if I drag it over the "warp stabilizer effect" in effect controls. However... It does not add motion blur to to the stabilized video, so if it was originally very shaky, your footage looks really messy and ugly with the motion blur. Useless in other words.

Any suggestions here? Nope, I did not find any answers in this forum or any other about this or a similar issue.

What has changed since it last worked? Have you changed CC versions as an example.

Have you tried using force motion blur on another project since u have had this issue. Try it: Perhaps your footage is the issue

Its best to start art with a process of elimination.

As you can see in the screenshot, I know how it is supposed to look. It's not the footage. It's like that with all the clips I try now.

I think I know what's going on.. When I pre-compose the clip moving very fast, then after effects reads it as "normal speed", thus more or less no motion blur. Any workaround here? I want after effects to think that the clip is actually in super speed (like it really is), not normal...

CC Force Motion blur works by analyzing pixel motion. If you pre-compose your Warp Stabilized layer and make sure you move all attributes to the new comp, you should be able to apply CC Force motion blur to the nested comp. You may have to jack up the settings a long way to see anything, but it should work just fine.

I don't have time to test this myself this morning but that should work. I'll run a test layer if I get the chance. The only possible thing I can think of that may cause a problem would be turning on Collapse Transformations.

Hi and thanks for answering.

I am very well aware of how CC Force Motion blur works. I have used it a lot! I normally just pre-compose and add the effect, but this time that does not work for me.. This is the first time I have a problem with it. It seems like it does not do anything at all. If I apply it to the video clip directly it works just fine. It's a huge effect since it's a hyperlaps ( very fast moving timelaps). In other words, no need to jack up the settings, I just showed you a screenshot of how it should look like. The only problem there is that it is applied when the footage is not stabilized. It does not work after using "stabilize motion" (tracker) or warp stabilizer.

Also tried Collapse Transformation. No results.

Any other suggestions?

Try rendering your or stabilize footage. Use a visually lossless format, not H.264.
