Can't click on layers in timeline

Question

Hi, I am very new to after effects and have been trying to start up a new video. I currently have 2 layers in my timeline, one audio only and one with audio and video. Don't know what I did but I cant click anything in my timeline panel besides the search bar. This happened recently after I split the audio only layer, so maybe it has to do with that? Every other panel is working fine, just can't click on anything in my timeline or layers.

Have you accidentally locked the layers? Make sure the little padlock in the left column of the timeline is not visible.

Make sure you don't have a dialog box open somewhere, perhaps covered by another window or something.

Try restarting After Effects and/or your machine.
