Can't export AAE animated title in a transparent format.

So im just finishing off a huge project in Final Cut and have an adobe after effects animated title from another videographer that i have to use.

Ive created the titles but when i export them the following things happen;

- The title exports with a black background and I cant overlay this as a lower third style title on the video

- It exports completely black

Ive been trouble shooting this for hours, I know its something super simple im doing wrong but its beyond frustrating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Assuming the background of your comp is actually transparent (You can check this by turning on the transparency grid preview at the bottom of the Comp panel) are you exporting the files in a format that supports transparency?

I usually use a QuickTime (mov) file with the ProRes 4444 codec. In the current version of AE it is the default format when you use High Quality with Alpha as the Output Module preset.

Without any info on what export settings you use, details of the template, render settings, system info and whatnot we realyl can't tell you much. Simply sounds like you are rendering clips with an unsuitable CoDec and on top of it your hardware acceleration isn't working correctly, also nixing the transparency. Those woudl be the first things to check. anything more will require proper details on the specifics.
