Can't get mask to track with MP powermesh

Up to date AE Cloud 24.6.7 Mocha® Pro 2025.5 v12.5.0
In Mocha pro I created a powermesh track of a moving face video track. In Mocha the mesh tracks and warps with the face. In AE it does not move at all.
In the underlying track with the face, render is turned off
In the overlying track with the mask that I want to track the face, render is on with warp stabalize.
