Can't Import PNG files into AE CC18 - using Windows 10

I've been using AE CC18 without any issues on my MacBook Pro. I recently switched to a PC, and currently using Windows 10. When I try to import any PNG files, the option is not listed by default. I change the file type to "All File Types" and I get the error "After Effects error: Failed to connect to Adobe Dynamic Link project. (86::1)". Is this a known issue with Windows machines and AE CC18?

I've been facing the same issue lately! And I managed to figure out a solution, you must run your adobe after effects installation program and it's going too reinstall your AE without losing your files and also fix your png import issue, well atleast it worked for my case
    Hope it helps

I have not had any issues..although I almost NEVER use the import option unless I'm bringing in a sequence.

But .png is listed under all acceptable file types and I bring them in all time (I drag them in)

Windows 10 and latest version of After Effects.

What is your workflow exactly for bringing in the files?

Stay away from JPGs and PNGs and other highly compressed file formats. I'm quite certain Adobe Media Encoder is able to import an image sequence. You can then render out a high quality movie to DnXHD or ProRes, if you have such an option available.

Do you have the most up-to-date version of AE?  There's been a recent bug fix.... 15.0.1, I believe.  And who knows, that particular bug may actually have been fixed.

I don't know for sure -- my policy is to stay a version behind on Adobe CC and let other people experience the pain of their extremely buggy software.
