Can't play video

When I load up After Effects, I can play the video one time, before the preview goes black and then it cannot be played again and btw the video is a valorant montage.

how do you actually do this, and what exactly does it mean

Update your graphics driver and check the hardware acceleration settings. Also consider transcoding your footage. Screen captures often have all sorts of issues that throw off AE. Anything more will require proper system info and other details.
