Can you change the brush style for the stroke on a shape layer?

I'm using a shape layer as a track matte, and to create a black border I've duplicated the shape, switched off the fill and turned on the stroke. I want to create a sort of "comic book panel" effect, so I'd like the border to look more like a hand-drawn pencil texture than a uniform solid line. Is it possible to change the brush style for the stroke on a shape layer?

I've obviously looked but I can't see anything in the stroke parameters for that. I can kinda-sorta get what I want with use of the Roughen Edges effect and/or with the Wave parameter, but is there any way to actually change the brush style for a stroke?

There are no brushes for Shape Layer Stroke. You can only taper and adjust the width.

You can do things like use Fractal Noise on another layer as a track matte or apply other distortion effects to give the path a more hand drawn look.
