Question

Cannot get after affects file into a team project

I recently made a composition on After Effects, and my friend needs to edit it slightly (because of the limits of my machine).

I have no clue how I can get it to him so he can edit it - I have tried sending the .aep file, but when he opens this the footage is glitched out. The file path of this footage is on my laptop and not his, so I think this is the issue.
I do not know how to resolve this though.

I have also tried creating an adobe after effects team project, and then import the .aep file into that and invite him as a collaborator, but this doesn't work and he doesn't even end up seeing any files in the left hand side panel.

Any help is appreciated.

You can mak a copy of your project and media then put them into a folder. This folder can be moved to the other person in a flash drive or a service like Drop box. They would have to reconnect the media after opening AE but it should be pretty easy.

In addition to what Rob said, you can use the Collect Files feature to collect the project file and used media in a folder that you can share. Here's how: https://adobe.ly/3SCZER6

Hope it helps. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions.

Thanks,
