Cannot see text in AE 2023

Just opened AE 2023, tried typing a text title using the text tool and it doesn't show in my preview. I see the red bracket where text should be, I've changed color, font, size...nothing. Anyone else?

    Start by resetting your character panel. You may have created a combination of settings that makes your text very tiny or whatever. Anything more will require some actual info like screenshots, system info, fonts used and so on.
