CC Changing Logo Colors (making them lighter) than original CS6 Project Colors

I have a logo that is appearing much lighter than it should in AE CC (2023 on this case) than it did in the original CS6 project. I recently opened this project in CC and did some new work on it and discovered it was noticeably lighter.  It is this way within the viewscreen AND on output.

I have double-checked the color settings in both versions of AE and they are identical.  Any idea what else it could be?  Is this some (yet another) inherant "flaw" in CC?  The CS6 version is how the logo should appear.  The logo is created from an Illustrator file (CS6 as well) and uses multiple layers to fake a 3D look inside AE.

So, the only thing(s) I can think of are, something is happening with the way CC interprets an Illustrator file now as to before with CS6?  OR, something to do with a difference in how CC applies a stack of copies in layers to simulate 3D?  Something else?

Gotcha.  Yeah, sorry that could have been when I was setting them both to sRGB to see what happened.  Ok, really appreciate it.  I thought I read a post at one point in the not-too-distant past, where someone else was experiencing a similar phenomenon in AE.

So I got some info and it turns out that CS6 would have been ignoring the color profile of your AI file completely, but the newer versions respect it, which actually makes them more accurate.

This doesn't solve your problem, but it lets us know that yup, the two versions are definitely handling the file differently. It was suggested that you check the color profile inside Illustrator and play around with that.  I wonder if your profile inside Illustrator is something other than sRGB, which is causing the new AE to handle the file differently when CM is disabled?

When you say you checked the color settings, can you be more specific? I can see that Color Management is enabled in the project, so do you mean the working and output spaces are the same? Are all files in the Project panel being interpeted with the expect color spaces?

As a test, if you temporarily disable color management in both projects, regardless of whether the look is correct, do CS6 and 2023 match each other?

Yes, the working spaces are exactly the same.  I can import the same exact file to both versions and they look different.  With Working Space set to NONE (or sRGB IEC61966-2.1), doesn't matter.  The CC one is always lighter.

Did you check the other two things I asked about? What does the Interpet Footage dialog say regarding color for the file, and did you try turning off Color Management all together as a test?
