Question

Changing 3D camera tracker ground plane and origin for existing objects

Please could someone tell me if it's possible to change the 3D camera tracker's ground plane and origin for objects that I have already created with the 3D camera tracker? For example, I have created some text with the 3D camera tracker, but now want it to track to a different area of the frame? Is it possible to do this without re-creating the text?

That's not possible and it's not exactly logical, either. A different track would produce a completely different solve and the AE tracker has no tools to merge different tracks and equalize them to produce a consistent single 3D environment. This would require sophisticated tools like SynthEyes or similar.

I think I see what you're saying. Every time I create an object (text, solid, etc.) to track to the image, it creates a dedicated 3D tracker camera for that specific object. I have some text that I've created to track to specific tracker points, but after creating it and editing it (size, font, color, position etc.), I find that it doesn't track very well to the tracker points I created it from, so now ideally I would like to just create a new 3D camera tracker layer from different points and attach the existing text to that, so that I don't have to waste time re-creating it. Does that make any sense?

Parent everything to a Null, move the Null around as needed.

Thanks for the answer. Forgive my ignorance, but maybe I'm not doing it right. When I parent the objects to the null and move the null, it just moves everything along the same ground plane. I am trying to move them to a different plane.
