Changing the canvas color?

Is it possible to change the canvas color in After Effects? I.e. the color outside compositions.

If working with a dark movie it's sometimes hard to see the edges.

No, I don't believe it is, but as an alternative you could go into preferences > appearance and set the brightness value to something different. Yes that does affect the entire interface, but it also affects the brightness of the canvas, so that might help - at least on a temporary basis.

When working with night shoots, I also find it very difficult to see the edges. It would be nice if we had an option to choose a lighter color for canvas. Or a toggle switch. Even better, since we live in the age of AI, let the app determine weather to lighten up the canvas based on the material used. Using brigthness did not make much difference btw.
