Can I create a character preset to make all text style look the same in the entire after effects project (with various text layers)?

Thanks!

Correct answer Roland Kahlenberg

This is ridiculous! AE still does not have text presets (or layer style presets fot that matter)...
Applying an animation preset changes the text too... So instead of saving time, it adds more time to spend fixing it.
All other adobe apps have this but not the one for motion design.

These features have been available recently.

Take a look here for examples -

Create a text layer with the formatting and style that you want. Select the Layer and then go to Animation > Reveal all modified properties. Select the Source Text value in the timeline and then go to Animation > Save Animation Preset to say all of the character and paragraph attributes as a preset. This can then be double-clicked in the Effects and Presets panel whenever you need a new text layer. If you have multiple text layers, just select them all and then double-click the preset to apply it.

Thanks for the explanation!

The only thing here is that I already have like 10 text layers with text, and for what I've tried, the animation preset also changes the text. I understand that this is though to be usen when creating from scratch nex lines, but what if you already have the text in the layer?

Thank you!

Yes, the Source Text parameter also contains the characters typed as well as the attributes from the Character and Paragraph panel.
