Choppy Delayed Playback of Cached Preview with MFR Enabled

Ello there, having a bit of bother here...

In every iteration of AE 22 I'm experiencing an issue with smooth playback of already cached frames. Playback is delayed briefly before either playing smoothly or stuttering. The amount of delay / stutter varies and often degrades with repeated replays. The more complex a project the more pronounced this issue is.

It is fixed instantly by unchecking MFR in preferences.

AE is how I make a living so I'd love enjoy the performance increase of MFR but it is rendered barely usable with my complex projects. Is this issue known of and will this be solved in the future?

...would be very grateful to hear from an expert or two

my setup:

i7 8086K

GTX 1080 ti

64GB RAM

Win 10

What kind of disk do you use for the cache? sounds like it is simply a bit too slow and the cache integrity checks take too long. If you haven't done that in a while, a bit of disk cleanup and optimization might already improve things.

Hiya there Mylenium, unfortunately it's definitely not that simple. As I say, the issue is fixed immediaely by disabling multi frame rendering --> the exact same strip of cached playback plays smooth without stutter [without re-caching]. I just uncheck MFR and press spacebar.

my disk cache is stored on a dedicated NVME SSD
