Cinema 4d internal error: String Resource not found!

I'm trying to open a new Cinema 4d lite project within after effects and keep getting an Internal error.

Internal Error: String Resource not found! The resource directory seems to be corrupt or missing.

Note: I have never opened up Cinema 4d lite in the past... This is my first time trying to use Cinema 4d lite within After Effects.

I have updated After Effects to ver. 14.1.0.57. Thought the update would help, but still getting the error.  If anybody has any ideas. Thanks!

  1. Understanding the Error: This error message typically indicates that Cinema 4D is unable to locate a necessary string resource, leading to a failure in executing a particular function or command within the software.
  2. Common Causes: Several factors can trigger this error, including corrupt installation files, missing or damaged resources, conflicts with third-party plugins, or system-related issues.
  3. Troubleshooting Steps: Begin by restarting Cinema 4D to see if the error persists. If it does, try reinstalling the software to ensure that all necessary resources are intact.
  4. Plugin Compatibility: If you're using plugins with Cinema 4D, check for updates or conflicts with the plugin that might be causing the error.
  5. System Updates: Ensure that your operating system and graphics drivers are up to date, as outdated software can sometimes lead to resource-related errors.
  6. User Preferences: Resetting Cinema 4D's preferences to default settings can sometimes resolve resource-related errors. You can do this by deleting or renaming the preference files located in the program's directory.
  7. File Corruption: If the error occurs when working with specific project files, those files may be corrupted. Try opening a different project to see if the error persists.
  8. Community Support: Visit online forums or communities dedicated to Cinema 4D users to seek advice from experienced users who may have encountered similar issues.

Nobody can tell you anything without exact system info or other technical details like your system language settings. This error indicates that either the folder is inaccessible due to odd naming (which can happen in some languages) or the program is unable to pick the correct default language for its UI for similar reasons.
