Collecting Dependencies > Frozen AE

On an M1 in AE "22.2.0 (Build 120)". I've been trying to collect dependencies for two weeks and after choosing the location and pressing save, AE immediately and without fail proceeds to freeze. 

 

I don't want to have to uninstall AE (I depend on a few great plugins, and hate having to re-load them into AE). I've tried reducing it first > still freezes. It freezes upon collecting irregardless of the project file. My computer has lots of free space.

Feeling like an idiot.

Sorry for your issue.

Do you see any error message or crash report? What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)? Also, does it happen with all the projects or a particular one?

You can try collecting the project to a different location.

Can you try changing the permissions as suggested in the following article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/multi/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html

If that doesn't helps, try creating a new user account on your machine and test After Effects in it: https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mtusr001/mac
