Color paint with brush and track motion with null object.

Hello Community!

I would love to have a help from you.

I am trying to color manually a specific area of my background's video ( since is not a specific color but more like blending 2 different colors together), but since the video moves I would need to keep the 'color paint' in the same position.

I tried null object unsuccessfully.

I am quite new with AE and I don't find much help with videos and tutorials.

Would appreciate any suggestion.

Thanks,

Stefano.

Please embed screenshots that show the entire user interface with the modified properties of the problem layer revealed. If you are using Paint you should be in the Paint workspace, the layer you are trying to paint on should be in the Layer Panel, the Comp Panel should be on the left, and you should have selected the Paint layer in the timeline and pressed uu to reveal all modified properties of the layer. Then we would have some idea of what you are trying to do.

I'm not sure what you are trying to paint out or how the video moves. If you are trying to replace something then maybe motion tracking and linking to a filled gradient shape layer is the best option. If you are trying to sample color then using the position of a null to choose the area you sample might be a good idea. We just need more information to be of much help.

First things first, thank you for the reply.

I am linking a video screen of the video I am trying to colour.

As you will see I coloured horizontally, but the target point of the video moves downward, so the coloured part moves up.

I need to find a way to track it.

When I try to use the pick-whip by linking it with the colour paint, it simply doesn't (as seen on the picture).

Thanks in advance for any further support.

Stefano.
