comp is showing text from another project/comp

All new comps, even new projects and new comps, I see text from an old project. What is happening? I uninstalled, then reinstalled but it is still there.

I am new to AE, and have been playing around in it creating new comps and sequences. Has anyone had this happen? Did I click something?

That's just it- I have not began any work. I have closed out of that particular project that I was working on, began a new project, and created a new composition with only the default settings on the dialog box. This is what I get... If I toggle to a transparent background, you can see the text....?

I am going to try cleaning the cache like the previous post suggested.

    Cleaning the cache worked!

    Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening in the future? Does anyone know what specifically happened? I know I was poking around, clicking things that I didn't fully understand what they do.

    Not really.  Things happen.
