Composition Flaw from Photoshop to After Effects

Currently working with twenty-four layers in Photoshop on a transparent background. These layers must retain their exact position within the composition when I import them into After Effects. Unfortunately, one out of twenty-four appears out of place after import. Using Import/PSD File/Retain Layer Size to get it into After Effects.

Is this just a glitch? Thanks in advance for all responses.

And if for some strange reason you do want to use the incorrect technique of dragging the layers into a new comp. Make sure to select “Comp Size” as this will “remember“ the layers Position, relative to the PSD document size.

Unfortunately I was dragging and dropping. Ugh. But fortunately you've solved my problem! I plead ignorance. Thank you so much.

I assume that after importing you simply, double click the comp in the project panel to open it? With all layers already in place? Please tell me that you’re not creating a new comp and dragging layers into it? Or dragging layers onto the new comp button? If you are then this would explain why they are not in the correct place.

when you import a PSD just double click the comp to open it
