Config Variable Font not appearing in After Effects

Hello! I am using After Effects. I synced the Adobe Font Config Variable, but I am not seeing it in the After Effects text options. I am able to use it in Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and Photoshop. So I am a bit confused as to what is going on. Does After Effects not support some Adobe fonts? Thank you.

AE doesn't fully support variable fonts yet. That's why it shows up everywhere else but not in AE.

Two workarounds:

Go to Adobe Fonts and activate a static instance of the font (Regular, Bold, etc.) instead of the variable version
Set your text in Illustrator, then import the .ai file into AE as a composition

Not ideal but that's where AE is at right now.
