Convert Vertex Tool not working

Question

I am learning to use the Convert Vertex tool in AE but its just not working. The pen tool work just fine and shows the pen icon but when I selet the convert vertex to just uses the normal mouse pointer. I've made sure to select the keyframes but still nothing. What could it be? Thank you!

Thank you for sharing the project, I didn't spot it from the screenshot, but the issue is you have separated your X and Y dimensions. When you use the vertex tool, you're adjusting the position in both the X and Y, so when they are separated, you cannot alter the path.

Right-click on either property and select the ticked Separate Dimensions. then you'll be able to adjust the path using the Convert Vertex tool.
