Question

Converting Premier clip to AE not working.

Ive been using the "convert to a AE comp" in premier for along time with no issues, however suddenly(perhaps an update?) when I use this it will open AE and create a comp however the timeline will be empty, where it used to put the media into the comp.

Yeah, this has been an issue on and off since CS6. These softwares CAN talk, theoretically, but it's spotty at best, and confusingly buggy at worst. I've had times where it would work a few times out of 10, making it just better to keep a notepad and mark the times i needed to edit, then replace footage.

Thats really unfortunate, I make super heavy use of this feature(I will have hundreds of links comps in every project) and havent had any issues in years until now. I also just tsted the latest beta build to see if its any better right now, and it will put a peice of media into AF however it will be black or transparent. Im kind of at a loss without this feature as manually adding clips into AF will add some a massive time burden I dont even know what to do.

Make a second folder with all the same files, replace the files of the second folder with the effects shots of the same name. Link with syncthing so all your editors can dump their shot into the folder, have a master project file that is duplicated from the editor's computer into the other folder using syncthing. Because the master folder is never used outside of the original edit, but the file is updated at all times you can always export a pre-and post-effect version at any point. Any editor can pick up any shot that needs to be edited, and if there's confusion, no work is ever deleted from the editor's workstation.
